This exceptionally soft and squishy yarn is made from the exquisite fleece of Renee the Rambouillet Merino ewe. A beautiful brown Dk weight yearn with 210 metres (240 yards) that is a joy to work with.
Rambouillet sheep fall under the Merino umbrella and hail from France. It is believed that King Louis XVI purchased some Merino from Spain to develop his own royal flock. Rambouillet wool is similar to Spanish Merino though it has a longer staple length and is a bit bouncier.
While we have had a few Rambouillet sheep here at Gladsheim Farm, Renee is not from our flock. Her fleece was so gorgeous that it was purchased to make this one of a kind, limited edition yarn. There are just a dozen skeins available and won't be repeated, so be sure to get enough for your project now.
Renee's yarn is a real standout with a soft, squishy handle and a gorgeous deep brown colour. It is the perfect choice for next-to-your-skin garments and baby items.

Notes :
This wool was grown by a ewe named Renee on GRannie Rambouillets and Johnstone farm in Manitoba and processed at a family-run fibre mill in Rosebud, Alberta. You can be sure that your yarn has been handled with love in all stages of its production.
Due to the slow method of transforming raw wool into yarn, each small batch is one of a kind and will reference the individual sheep who grew the fibre. Please ensure you purchase the right amount for your project as given the nature of small batch yarn, there may be variations in fleeces from year to year.
Enjoy using this Canadian farm raised yarn from Renee. We hope that the garment you create brings great joy and perhaps becomes an heirloom piece in your wardrobe.
Please understand that all attempts have been made to accurately photograph the colour of this yarn. Due to the range of individual settings on computers, there may be unavoidable colour variance.
