Rock's fleece ~ Gotland ~ 2 lbs 10 oz ~ a little vm

Rock has a gorgeous fleece that is mostly shimmering, creamy tones with some greyish tips.  The lock length is over 7cm.  Rock has a lovely fleece that will spin up into interesting shades of cream.

Rock lives at a nearby farm and is full Gotland.  All the sheep at this farm have proven to be exceptional fleece growers.  I have purchased a few sheep here and the genes are very nice!  Carefully picked, Rock's shimmery locks will make some stunning yarn!

Gotland sheep trace back to Sweden and grow long locks that resemble mohair wool.  Gotland locks spin up into a soft, drapey yarn that lends itself well to shawls and cowls.  It truly tansforms from a longwool type fibre into a silky spun yarn.  Gotland fleece is a joy to spin and Astrid's fibre is an excellent example of the breed.

*This is a raw fleece, meaning it is unwashed.  It has been lightly picked and weighed, then packaged to prevent moth damage.   You can expect bits of vm and some second cuts here and there.  It is up to you to scour your fleece.
